Gratitude is the best medicine to heal our mind, body and soul. We have so many things to be grateful for. Gratitude is not merely words at superficial level. It is a profound thought which is embedded deep down in our souls. The soul chooses its body, its own path, its own karmas. It comes on the Earth to evolve. For that it requires a body. Shouldn’t we thank our body for helping us release our karmic bonds?
First thing we should do when we get up in the morning
is to pay a deep gratitude to our breath and each organ of our body for disseminating our duties so well. We all take our body for granted but can we imagine our life without our body? Certainly not. Our body is the engine of our mind, soul and our past karmas.
Our biological existence on the Earth is due to our parents. They are the ones who stand by us through thick and thin. So, we owe a lot of gratitude towards them. We have countless things to be thankful for like the Nature, our surroundings, our teachers, our jobs etc. Even if we face adverse situations in our life we learn lessons from them and grow. When we feel gratitude deep within then our nervous system comes out of the flight and fight mode and weaves the threads of creativity around us and we stop overthinking. Gratitude is not only a positive feeling but the biggest state of healing and manifestation because we become emotionally stable. At the psychological level we have a sense of completeness and we resonate with the frequency of the Universe.
WHAT WE ARE SEEKING FOR IS ALREADY SEEKING US.
Approach matters a lot in life. We will understand this with the help of an example. Two persons are working on a reputed position in the same company. Their workplace is far away from their homes. It takes them two hours for commutation. The person with the negative mindset is always complaining about the distance, remains frustrated and is always yelling on the staff. On the other hand, the person with a positive mindset daily thanks the Almighty for giving him job in such a reputed Company. He feels grateful for the long distance he has to travel because he gets ample of time to read books, connect with the Creator, pay gratitude for all the things and people around him. He reaches his office in a calm state of mind and gives his best performance. He is liked by all because of his pleasing personality. This teaches us that we should find joy in whatever we do.
Gratitude helps us to feel one with the Universe. When we align ourselves with the Universe, we realize that we are not different from the Universe but we are part and parcel of it. Wonderful arrangements have been made by the Universe to provide our body a place to live in, a family so that it is not alone, a social environment – so that its existence on earth is congenial and lively, a source of income to make our life smooth, beautiful relations around us to cherish the memories with them and all the facilities to make our life worthwhile.
But the sad part is that we consider all these things as permanent and get attached to them forgetting that they have been provided to us in this materialistic world till we are in the human body. They are the external sources of our existence but our mind gets associated with them and this habit of clinging over things and people plunge us into the ocean of misery and suffering. We start treating them as our permanent property, exert our right over them and even forget to thank the Lord for taking care of our day-to-day affairs. If we have the habit of thanking the Creator, we will create abundance in our lives. Our heart and soul will be brimming with the nectar of self-satisfaction and will never attract the negative feelings like hatred, jealousy, greed, unhealthy competition etc because all these feelings are associated with our mind. The basic nature of the Soul is freedom and it cannot get attached with these feelings.
Gratitude envelopes us with positive energies, we feel peace and serenity at each and every step. When each breadth of ours intermingles with the feeling of gratitude then we rise to the higher level of consciousness which opens the door to Divinity. When this divine experience flows in our thoughts than we emanate this serenity in the environment. If each individual believes in the concept of gratitude than the whole world will become a beautiful place to live in. It will help us to delve deep down into the Ocean of love and purity and receive the pearls of eternal bliss.
